Scaffold is a free Mac app in open beta. These terms cover your use of the app and this website. By downloading or using Scaffold, you agree to them.
Local first
Scaffold runs on your Mac. Your memory, chats, embeddings, and exports are stored as files on your device. We do not host your memory, and we do not back it up for you.
The desktop app has no product telemetry, analytics, or automatic crash reporting.
Your data, your responsibility
You are responsible for your device, your files, and your backups. Disk failure, uninstalls, OS upgrades, corruption, and lost exports are on you. Export and archive what matters.
Optional account
Signing in is optional. You can use Scaffold without an account.
If you sign in, your account is used only to:
- Route remote MCP requests to your local app while it is online
- Submit bug reports you choose to send
The MCP relay is transport only. Memory, messages, and tool results are not stored on our servers. Bug reports require sign-in and send only the message you write, plus app version and platform. Do not include secrets or sensitive data in bug reports.
Network features you control
Cloud inference is optional and uses your own API keys, sent directly to the provider you choose. Connectors and other third-party services are optional and configured by you.
AI and accuracy
Scaffold and any models you connect can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. Outputs are not professional advice. You use them at your own risk.
Third-party services
If you use cloud models, connectors, or other external APIs, those providers' terms and privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for their services or how they handle data you send them.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Scaffold app. We retain all rights to the software. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app or our relay in a way that harms the service or other users.
No warranty
Scaffold is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. This is free beta software.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of Scaffold, including data loss, incorrect memory or outputs, third-party API charges, or inability to access the app. Our total liability will not exceed what you paid us for the app (currently nothing).
Acceptable use
Do not use Scaffold for illegal activity, or to abuse our servers, relay, or accounts.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. The date above will change when we revise them.
